"When I started looking for a more collaborative practice closer to home, I met with Dr. Jan Liles and Dr. Susan Sheehy while I was visiting family," Dr. Sarah Kate Fisher recalled. "We instantly clicked." That chance meeting in 2019 turned out to be anything but coincidental.
Alabama Hearing Associates, the premier North Alabama audiology practice, is proud to announce that Dr. Fisher has joined the team as a partner and co-owner after years of dedicated service to the practice.
Founded 25 years ago, Alabama Hearing Associates has built a reputation for clinical excellence and patient-centered care throughout Huntsville, Madison, and Florence. What began as a chance family visit quickly revealed a shared philosophy of care between Dr. Fisher and her new colleagues, a connection that has only deepened in the years since.
The North Alabama native's passion for audiology began in childhood, after recurring ear infections first introduced her to the field. She brings particular expertise in cochlear implant candidacy and programming, as well as diagnostic best practices such as real-ear measurements and electroacoustic analysis. Her becoming a co-owner in 2026 is no coincidence; it reflects a long-term commitment to ensuring that quality hearing care continues as the practice celebrates more than two decades of service.
"I want to continue the legacy that Drs. Jan and Susan have built, providing care that is not only clinically excellent, but also deeply compassionate and patient-centered," she added. "By educating patients on what best practices actually look like, we can empower them to seek better care and ultimately elevate the level of care across our entire community."
As part of her commitment to community education and patient wellness, Dr. Fisher will co-host a free public event alongside Dr. Jan Liles on Thursday, May 14 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CT at the Shoals Chamber of Commerce in Florence. The event, held in partnership with hearing technology leader Phonak, will explore the growing body of research connecting untreated hearing loss to cognitive decline and dementia, and will offer attendees practical guidance on protecting both their hearing and long-term brain health. The event is free and open to the community, though seating is limited and an RSVP is required. Interested attendees may register by contacting Alabama Hearing Associates at (256) 319-4327 or email madison@alabamahearing.net.
Alabama Hearing Associates' Florence location is at 433 N Pine St, where Dr. Hollie Green, a Shoals native, leads hearing care. To schedule an appointment or learn more about hearing loss and tinnitus solutions, call (256) 740-8383.
