n addition to adhering to the policies and procedures as specified by the Alabama Technology Network, the host college, and the Alabama Community College System, duties will include but are not limited to, the following:
- Develops and implements technical assistance and training projects for business and industry, heavily focused on manufacturing companies, particularly in the area of Industrial Maintenance Technology.
- Delivers projects as assigned.
- Trains/facilitates all aspects of Industrial Maintenance Technology/Electrical Engineering as part of project work.
- Travel to deliver and/or assist with Team projects as needed throughout the state of Alabama. Frequent overnight travel required (approved travel reimbursed.) Travel is required.
- Prepares reports, statistical data, and general information for use in evaluating effectiveness of industrial maintenance technology programs implemented for clients.
- Submits documentation and reports to Director or Central Office as requested.
- Collaborates on projects/activities with other ATN staff throughout the state.
- Collaborates on projects/activities with the Alabama Community College Workforce personnel throughout the state.
- Participates in Industrial Maintenance Technology Team and on ATN committees, as requested.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with prospective and current clients.
- Prepares all required training materials, including but not limited to sign-in sheets, handouts, manuals, and class evaluations.
- Works with clients to complete client satisfaction and impact surveys.
- Participates in the formulation and implementation of Industrial Maintenance Technology Team product line operations and strategic planning initiatives.
- Promotes ATN within civic, professional, technical, and industrial organizations and other agencies.
- Assists Business Development office with relationship development.
- Completes activities with companies within the goals and objectives developed each year.
- Utilizes Enterprise Planning Resources (ERP) system, NetSuite, to record time, expense, and other data in a timely manner.
- Adheres to National Institute of Standards and Technology/Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST/MEP) guidelines and procedures.
- Maintains professional credentials and participates in meetings and conferences of relevant professional organizations.
- Assists with Team efforts of business development, marketing, communications, and public relations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekend hours.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical area from an accredited institution*.
- At least five (5) years full-time industrial maintenance technology experience in business and industry.
- Understanding of electrical principals, electrical controls, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), robotics, and electrical maintenance.
- Experience with delivery and industry training.
- Effective and proven computer, presentation, and project management skills.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with various software including Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of mechanical principals used in manufacturing.
- Experience with one or more of ATN's service delivery specialties (Quality Systems, Lean Enterprise, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering/Technical Services, Food Industry, or Leadership & Management Development).
- Experience in business development, marketing, sales, or public relations.
Supplemental Information
Salary: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Technology Network’s Salary Schedule T-3 ($66,411 - $108,987).
This is a state-wide job search. The selected candidate will be assigned to an ATN office location based on their proximity to an existing ATN office location designated by the Executive Director.
