This position is responsible for supporting the materials center operations for the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative. The materials center packages, distributes, and refurbishes math and science educational materials for K-12 schools in the UNA Inservice Center Region. Starting salary is $15-$21 per hour, dependent upon experience.
Sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is grant-funded. Initial and continued employment is dependent upon funding by the sponsoring agency.
Essential job duties include: stage kits in the distribution center; coordinate schedules with materials manager to ensure all kits are ready for distribution; refurbish kits as required by standards; unload and inventory new shipments of materials; assist schools with loading and unloading of kits; communicate with and build rapport with regional school staff and administrators; collaboratively work with other team members; be able to work independently; and perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma/equivalent is required; experience with inventory control is preferred; the ability to drive a box truck and/or delivery van is required; the ability to drive a forklift is preferred; a current, valid driver’s license is required (no CDL requirement); and a forklift certification is preferred.
