United Way of Northwest Alabama Makes Final Plea to Help Reach Annual Campaign Goal

With less than 2 weeks remaining in its annual campaign, United Way of Northwest Alabama is making a final plea to reach its aggressive fundraising goal. The organization has raised $688,389 up to this point, which is 81% of its $850,000 goal.

“We’re so grateful to those who have already rallied around our campaign and shown tremendous support,” said CEO Jennifer McNulty. “As we near our
May 15th deadline, we hope others will help us build on that momentum and push us to our goal.”

Dollars raised from this year’s campaign will fund vital programs and services that improve the health, education and financial stability of Northwest Alabamians in Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, and Marion Counties. United Way of Northwest currently supports 18 different nonprofits in our area as well as two internal programs, Success by 6 and 2-1-1 Information & Referral.  They want to emphasize to the community that all funds that are raised locally, stay here in our community.

“We are asking everyone to join us. This area is facing an urgent need, particularly as we face the immediate needs and future fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Campaign Chair Terry Wicker. “These much-needed programs can only continue with the support of the community. With your contribution, you can be the reason help is within reach. Now more than ever, we need you to be the reason we’re a stronger community.”
