PREVENTATIVE HEALTH SCREENINGS PROMOTE WELLNESS AND SAVE LIVES

SHOALS COMMUNITY CLINIC ANNUAL COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR
PREVENTATIVE HEALTH SCREENINGS PROMOTE WELLNESS AND SAVE LIVES

The Shoals Community Clinic in partnership with UNA Anderson College of Nursing & Health Professions will be hosting its Annual Community Health Fair Monday October 14, 2024 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Free flu shots will be available along with screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol (with 6 hour fasting prior to testing), diabetes and pre-diabetes, respiratory function, vision, hearing, hepatitis C and HIV. In addition, there will be many vendors on hand to provide information about important services available to help meet needs for a happy, healthy community. UNA Nursing Students will be distributing non-perishable food items to participants as supplies last.

Regular health screenings and vaccinations prevent the onset of more serious disease. Chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure and diabetes, are frequently missed in general health visits, and can become life threatening if left unchecked and untreated. The Annual Community Health Fair is free to the entire community, and will be held at the Shoals Community Clinic located at 309 WC Handy Place in Florence, Alabama. For more information, please contact the clinic at (256) 760-4713.
