United Way Celebrates National 211 Day

Florence, AL – On Monday, February 11, 2019 United Ways worldwide will celebrate National 211 Day. National 211 Day’s focus is to bring awareness to members of our community of the local health and human services that are available. It is also our goal to celebrate our local 211 and spread the word about how it works.
2-1-1 is a telephone number you can dial to access local disaster, health and human services. Call specialists are available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to assist callers who are in need of resources. Whether you need to know where you can find a nearby food pantry, need help with a utility bill or want to sign up for a parenting class; 211 can direct you to available resources that may be able to help.
At 211 Information and Referral of Northwest Alabama, we’re fighting to assist every caller, in every community, toward a path that leads to lasting change in their lives. Our local 211 covers Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Marion and Winston Counties.
If you are in need of our services, please give us a call at 211. If you or your agency provides resources and would like to partner with us, please contact, Indigo J.S. Fort, Program Manager at 256-764-5892 ext. 107.
Follow the conversation online through Facebook and Twitter, using the hashtags #211Day and #Team211.
