BEST Robotics Mall Day is this Saturday

The Northwest Alabama BEST Robotic Competition will hold its 2018 Mall Day at the Florence Mall on Saturday, September 22, 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. BEST is a workforce development partnership between the Shoals Chamber of Commerce and Northwest-Shoals Community College. The Chamber and the College will gather the 19 participating schools to practice driving their robots in preparation for the BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) Robotics Competition on October 6.
Since the season kick-off on August 25, teams have worked diligently to complete the design and engineering process for their robots. These robots are built to accomplish the specific challenges of this year’s game – CURRENT EVENTS.

Each team will design a robot to accomplish various tasks to assist with cleaning up the plastic trash that collects in the oceans’ currents in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Team’s robots will collect the trash, recycle it and build artificial reefs with the assistance of their field engineer and field scientist.
