Customer Service Representative - Lumber Sales

  • The Customer Service Representative will interact with the company’s customers and supplier by addressing inquiries, qualifying potential prospects, writing up sales orders, work orders, and purchase orders for sales representatives.
  • This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..
  • This position is an hourly paid position and overtime is compensated. 
  • No travel to minimal travel is expected for this position.
  • No supervisory responsibilities are required for this position.

  1. Interacts with customers and supplier via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
  2. Collects and enters orders for new or additional products or services.
  3. Fields customer questions and complaints; when the issue is beyond the representative’s knowledge, forwards to the assigned specialist or other appropriate staff.
  4. Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customers’ problems and concerns.
  5. Maintains customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  7. Time management and organizational skills required.
  1. Excellent communication skills including active listening.
  2. Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
  3. Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Customer service experience preferred.
  3. Knowledge of Lumber preferred.
  4. Proficient math skills are required.
  1. While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear on the phone.  Frequently required to stand, walk, sit in chair for extended periods, use hands and fingers and reach with arms.
  2. This job operates in a professional office environment.  Routine use of office equipment such as computers, fax machines, telephones, file cabinets.
  3. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds at times.
