SUMMARY: PROVIDES GENERAL NURSING CARE TO INDIVIDUALS SERVED BY THE ARC OF THE SHOALS
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Become and maintain certification as a Medication Administrator Supervisor according to Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH) and Medicaid Waiver standards.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques of ADMH and Medicaid Waiver standards.
Conducts training for all staff in accordance with ADMH.
Assist with medical appointments as scheduled/needed.
Prepare monthly MAR sheets for all residents.
Documents receipts and disbursement of medication as needed for all residents. Assure proper storage of medications, inventory, etc.
Maintains a professional rapport with doctors, nurses, pharmacy staff, etc.; Document the contacts.
Participates in house activities as needed, including weekly and monthly meetings with residential management staff, and/or direct care staff.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Current, active, and maintain licensing by the Alabama Board of Nursing - RN or LPN ARE WELCOME TO APPLY Prefer hands on work with Intellectual/Developmental individuals (adults); psychiatric; dementia in a residential group home/home setting, and with Medicaid Waiver experience.

Must drive/transport individuals in company vehicles - Insurance requires age 21 and above with an excellent driving record
Must work 40 hours per week. In addition, On Call as needed and as assigned, etc.
Ability, willingness to bend, stoop, lift, transfer, etc. and to train/support Direct Care Workers

*DUTIES:
Serve the medical and health care needs of persons supported by The Arc of the Shoals. We support adults ages 21 and above with a I/DD (primary diagnosis) and Mental Illness (MI - secondary).
Render medical services according to standards set forth by The Department of Mental Health Nursing Delegation Program, laws and ordinances of the State of Alabama regulating the practice of nursing; Medicaid Waiver; and such other rules or standards as may be devised for optimum care of the persons served.
Develop and implement other professional nursing standards; Advise and consult with various disciplines, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, case management, physical therapist, etc. to correlate the needs; Transfer medical information to other agencies; Responsible for maintaining the documentation, filing of medical records as required.
