Forklift Operator

JOB OVERVIEW

  • Any labor required to handle, prepare, treat, transport,label, and store lumber products
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with 8 to 12 hour shifts including some Saturdays.
  • There are 2 shift options. The first team starts at 7 am and the second team starts at 1 pm.
  • Weekly work schedules are shared in advance.
  • This position is not exempt from overtime pay.
  • No travel is expected for this position.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Daily perform the task of treating wood to include loading and unloading of the cylinder, tagging wood, repackaging and repairing bundles as well as redistributing wood back into the yard to proper location and status.

2. Heavily involved in the maintenance and upkeep of the treating plant per the maintenance schedule.

3. Have the ability to properly complete daily production paperwork.

4. Load and Tag wood properly.

5. Rotate wood on the yard according to the rotation plan.

6. Meet treating process change out time goals.

7. Operate all machines in accordance with Company, OSHA and specific product procedures and recommendations.

8. Complete all daily paperwork necessary to operate equipment.

9. Personally be on time and in compliance with CompanyHandbook.

10. Any other tasks assigned by VP of Operations.


COMPETENCIES:

1. Must be proficient in operating a Forklift safely.

2. Knowledge of company Brand Commitment, Mission, Vision and Values and a desire to be better every day.

3. Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.

4. Ability to communicate effectively and be a Team Player.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. May require prolonged sitting, driving, forklift vibration.

2. Must be able to properly handle wood which may require climbing, balance, stooping, crouching, walking and lifting.

3. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions; heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity; fumes and airborne particles.

4. Must be able to lift/carry 40 pounds.
