This Position
Programmer/Technical Support Specialist
The programmer position codes, tests, debugs, documents, and installs both new programs/technologies and makes changes to existing programs/technologies of a complex nature to provide quality IT services to user departments.
We did our best to simplify this important role into 3 categories.
  1. Writes structured application/interface code from specifications conforming to established methodology and standards.
  2. Conducts unit tests of either new or modified applications. Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
  3. Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
  1. Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
Technical Support
  1. Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements.
  2. Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users’ premises.
  3. Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
  4. Provides telephone, in-person and online support to end-users.
  5. Coordinates activities with network services and information systems groups.
  6. Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience
  1. Office Products (specifically Access and VBA) experience
  2. Visual Studio 2019
  3. VB.Net
  4. Active Reports
  5. SQL Server
Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree preferred
  2. Or 2+ years of related work experience and training
  3. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
