Position Summary
The Leadership & Management Development (LMD) Training Facilitator develops and delivers training and technical assistance to business and industry, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing companies, in the area of Leadership & Management Development. This position delivers instructor-led training and facilitates associated activities in support of the Leadership & Management Development team.
This is a North/Central Alabama recruitment. The selected candidate will be assigned to an Alabama Training Network (ATN) office location based on their place of residence and proximity to an existing ATN office, which may include Alexander City, Birmingham, Cullman, Gadsden, Muscle Shoals, Sumiton, or Rainsville. The employee is required to report in person to their designated office unless traveling for approved ATN business-related purposes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Develops and implements technical assistance and training projects for business and industry in the area of Leadership & Management Development (LMD).
- Delivers assigned projects, ensuring training and facilitation activities align with ATN standards, timelines, and client needs.
- Delivers instructor-led class presentations and facilitates associated training activities.
- Delivers in-person training and facilitation, including standing, instructing, and presenting for extended periods of time (up to 8–10 hours per day).
- Travels throughout the state of Alabama to deliver and support Leadership & Management Development projects. Frequent overnight travel and regular day travel are required; approved travel is reimbursed.
- Prepares reports, statistical data, and evaluative documentation to assess the effectiveness and impact of Leadership & Management Development programs implemented for clients.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with prospective and existing clients to support engagement, retention, and program success.
- Works independently with minimal supervision, exercising professional judgment in planning and executing assigned responsibilities.
- Maintains the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include occasional evening and weekend hours.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities

- Submits required documentation and reports to the Team Director and/or Central Office in a timely manner.
- Collaborates on projects and activities with other ATN staff across the state.
- Collaborates on projects and activities with the Alabama Community College System.
- Participates in Leadership & Management Development Team activities and serves on ATN committees as requested.
- Prepares training-related materials, including but not limited to sign-in sheets, handouts, manuals, and course evaluations.
- Works with clients to complete client satisfaction and impact surveys.
- Participates in the formulation and implementation of Leadership & Management Development product lines, operational improvements, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Completes activities with companies in alignment with annual goals and objectives.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with employees of the host college.
- Coordinates with the Business Development Office to promote ATN services with civic, professional, technical, and industrial organizations, and other agencies.
- Utilizes enterprise planning resources (ERP), including NetSuite, to accurately record time and expenses in accordance with ATN requirements.
- Maintains required professional credentials and participates in meetings, conferences, and activities of relevant professional organizations as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Technical Business, Engineering Management, Human Resources, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Education Substitution:
A minimum of eight (8) years of full-time professional experience in Business Administration, Business Management, Leadership & Management Development, Engineering Management, or Human Resources may be accepted in lieu of the bachelor’s degree requirement.
- Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
manufacturing leadership, business administration, business management, leadership & management development, or human resources within business, industry, or manufacturing environments. - Experience with facilitation, instruction, or training delivery in manufacturing, business, and/or industry settings.
- Demonstrated understanding of Leadership & Management Development (LMD) training products and services.
- Minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Skills and Competencies
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and project management skills
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of DiSC Assessment or other behavioral/personality assessment tools
- Experience or working knowledge in one or more of ATN’s service delivery areas, including:
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS); Industrial Maintenance Technology; Continual Improvement; Agribusiness; and Food Services - Experience in business development, sales, marketing, or public relations, particularly in a technical, industrial, or workforce development environment
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment

- While the assigned office will be in North/Central Alabama, the position requires travel throughout the state of Alabama to deliver training and support ATN projects. The employee is required to report in person to their designated office unless traveling for approved ATN business-related purposes.
- Salary: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Training Network Salary Schedule, T-3 ($66,411 – $108,987) and will be determined based on the selected candidate’s education and years of applicable experience.
