Job Description

Mechanic- County Wide- until filled

for the 2018-2019 School Year  


  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  2. At least one of the following:

    1. Certificate of completion of a certified auto mechanic apprenticeship.

    2. Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as an auto or truck mechanic.

  3. Valid Alabama (Class B or above) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger and school bus endorsement within six months of employment.

  4. Become certified with the State Department of Education as a mechanic in the area of general bus maintenance within six months of employment.

Effective July 1, 1999, all newly employed personnel having unsupervised contact with students in the Lauderdale County School System will be required to submit a criminal background check mandated by the State.  Applicants are responsible for initiating their own background check process.
