Shoals Chamber:

Expectations:
The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping the business community, and be a team player ready to build relationships and be actively engaged in all aspects of the Shoals Chamber. This person must be self-motivated, teachable, and be comfortable learning to operate multiple software systems. Furthermore, this individual is expected to:
- Understand and value the mission and goals of the Chamber
- Engage with current, former, and prospective Chamber members in a respectful, polished manner
- Possess expertise and comfortability with technology
- Ability to work standard office hours and Chamber events on nights and weekends as needed
Skills and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelors degree preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with Quickbooks or other similar software
- Experience in bookkeeping or financial administration is preferred
- Prior experience in customer service is preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to learn software systems
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and provide information to the general public in person and by phone
- Answer or direct phone calls and respond to questions and requests of callers
- Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area
- Call upon existing members to express gratitude and assess needs
- Develop excellent knowledge of Chamber member benefits in order to understand and address members' needs
- Develop knowledge of the Shoals’ demographics and tourist attractions in order to respond to frequent questions about the area
- Conduct the ACRA cost-of-living survey three times per year
- Maintain and update office records, files, and membership database
- Manage ChamberMaster CRM Software, including updating member information, processing applications, processing payments, and creating reports for information
- Assist with scheduling, setup, and cleanup of Chamber meeting spaces and events, including Board meetings
- Maintain economic notebooks by updating information and preparing notebooks for mailing and/or presentation
- Perform bookkeeping duties, including tracking expenses and processing invoices
- Maintain and update general information and materials for relocation packets
- Operate office equipment, computers, and software as needed
- Represent Chamber at events, as assigned
- Collaborate with other staff members to meet organizational goals and deadlines
- Assist other staff and President as needed
- Salary negotiable based on relevant experience
