"Smoke in the Outfield" is a new Premiere Barbecue Festival heading to North Alabama at Toyota Field! Two days of festivities include live music, entertainment and activities like mechanical bull rides, yard games, face painters & balloon artists, food and drink specialties, and capped off by over 50 teams competing in a three part barbecue cook off sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Competitors will be judged on best barbecued Chicken, Ribs and Pork and the People's Choice Awards, and compete for a Grand Prize of $1,500!

Teams will compete in three categories: Chicken, Ribs, and Pork. Teams must provide and pass an inspection of their protein prior to the competition by a certified KCBS representative. The Top 3 finishers in each contest will be awarded. A cash Grand Prize and a First Prize will awarded to the top two overall finishers. Teams may also compete in the People's Choice contest for which a Boston Butt pork cut will be provided and winners will be awarded based on voting from festival attendees. Upon registration, teams will receive the official competition guide from the Kansas City Barbecue Society.
