The Shoals Chamber Singers will offer two performances of its Christmas concert: the first at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Grace Episcopal Church, 103 Darby Ave., Sheffield, and again at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Florence First United Methodist Church, 415 N. Seminary St., Florence. Both performances are free to the public, with donations being accepted at the door.
These are the first concerts the group will perform with interim conductor Jane Powell and new accompanist Davonna Blasingame. Harpist Annette Harmon, flutist Carol Smith and cellist Thomas Maternik-Piret will provide additional instrumental accompaniment. Selections will include both sacred and seasonal favorites, such as “Silent Night!” arranged by Mack Wilberg, “White Christmas” arranged by Kirby Shaw, and John Rutter’s “What Sweeter Music.”
