Get to Know Our

Career Technical Educators

Colbert County Schools

Career and Technical Education Director

and the Work Based Learning Coordinator

Emiley Crisler is the Career and Technical Education Director and the Work Based Learning Coordinator for Colbert County Schools.

There are currently seven CTE programs offered within the system; students have the opportunity to earn dual credit in health science and the automotive technology program. The district is also excited to partner with Northwest-Shoals Community College and the University of North Alabama to offer numerous other opportunities for our students to earn dual credits.

Students are actively gaining leadership skills through the Career Tech Student Organizations. This past summer Colbert County Schools had many organizations compete at the national level, which included the FBLA chapter from Colbert Heights High and Cherokee High, the DECA chapter from Colbert Heights High, and the SKILLS USA chapter with Colbert County’s Emergency and Fire Management Services Program. The FFA chapter from Cherokee High School will be competing at the FFA National Convention in October. The district is so proud of our CTSOs and their sponsors and the wonderful opportunities afforded to our students!

Upcoming Events:

We are currently interviewing applicants for the Lockheed Martin Pre-Apprenticeship Program and looking forward to our 8th-grade students attending the Worlds of Work for North Alabama in November!

NEWS  &  RESOURCES

Top 10 Best

Scholarship Search Platforms

It's not too early to begin the search for college scholarships!

Even if you have a good summer job, you likely won’t make enough to pay for college. You also might not have the money you need to cover your living expenses, textbooks and a dorm room.

That is why you need to look for scholarships that will cover some or all of those costs.

Scholarship programs often include funds that go unclaimed each year and offer money that you do not need to repay. As you start your career, you don’t want to worry about loans and how you will pay them when you have other bills to worry about.

Using college scholarship search platforms is the easiest way to find programs that you qualify for and learn how to get that money. We ranked the 10 best scholarship search platforms that you can use while planning for the future.  [Click below to get the list.]
