Sheffield City Schools Career Coach
Â
Autumn Dickerson is the Career Coach for Sheffield City Schools. Before becoming a Career Coach, she was a Graduation Coach for one year and a Special Education Teacher for six years. Autumn is married to Brian, and they have four children, Brian Jr, Sariyah, Austen, and Addisyn. Autumn is a Sheffield native and is excited about being back home serving her community.
Â
“I have always been a fan of CTE programs and how it allows students to explore and discover things about themselves and their abilities. Partnering with our School Counselors and Administrators to provide our students with opportunities to explore different career fields, assess their personal aptitudes and abilities, and prepare for life after high school has been the most rewarding feeling I have had since I began teaching. I am excited to continue to learn more about CTE, the business industry, and career development so that I can continue to help provide our students with opportunities and exposure.”
Sheffield City Schools are always looking for partnerships that will assist with providing our students with opportunities to be prepared to become enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college, enlisted in the military, or employed locally when they reach graduation.

Your Money, Your Life! / Reality Check
VOLUNTEERS Â NEEDED!
|
Reality Check / Your Money, Your Life is a personal finance simulation that gives students a taste of what it is like to make ends meet each month. Students are tasked with budgeting based on a given monthly income related to their preferred career choice. The students move through the simulation and “purchase” various needs and wants at different volunteer-staffed stations such as housing, cars, insurance, groceries, clothing, daycare, banking, insurance etc.
Two (2) remaining opportunities are coming up to help students learn how their education is connected to their career path, which is connected to their future finances, which is connected to their future quality of life. Join this fun, educational, personal finance simulation and help our future workforce learn how to budget their money!

YouScience is a science-based, skills assessment to determine students' natural abilities and guide them to educational pathways and local careers that match their God-given talents. When assessed, most students have technical skills they never knew they had! See "Case Studies" below for evidence-based research.
Â
YouScience provides employers a FREE platform to get your brand in front of your local future workforce.
Â
In addition, you can use the new (paid) feature to list specific job titles to reach students who have the specific skills you hire, helping you build and maintain a sustainable talent pipeline that is critical for an organization's future performance.
