Karen Bowles, Office Manager at B Electric, Inc., has been in the Shoals since July of 1989. In the fall of 1997 she began her college career as a non-traditional student. She graduated in 2003 from the University of North Alabama Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in Human Resources. She was also the recipient of the University of North Alabama Keller Key. Upon graduation and for the next two years, she served as Human Resource Administrator for a manufacturing facility in the wire industry.  
 
In 2005, Karen joined the team at B Electric, Inc. Her strengths include organization and attention to detail. She manages the full operation of the office to include all administration duties as well as all Human Resource functions and compliance. Karen also functions as Safety and Training Coordinator. She is responsible for all Insurance audits and renewals. In addition, Karen handles the advertising, charitable giving and community service projects. She was a 2007 graduate of Leadership Shoals, and most recently serves on the Shoals Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.  
 
Karen and her husband, James for the past 29 years have been active members of Woodmont Baptist Church. No matter what aspect she works in at church, it usually centers on the youth and cooking for them. In her free time, she loves to read, spend time with her family, her dog River, and travel.
