Fall at the Pumpkin Patch
Of all the fall activities, visiting a pumpkin patch has to be one of the most exciting for the whole family! In the Shoals, we love visiting McGee Farm each year for an adventure that is sure to put us in the fall spirit!
McGee Farms was founded in 1978 by Lennis McGee and his mother, Annie Ruth McGee. What originally began as a strawberry patch evolved to become an exciting destination throughout the past four decades. In 1996, the farm began “The Real Pumpkin Patch,” which is the attraction that keeps visitors coming back each fall to enjoy.
At the farm, visitors can ride in a tractor-drawn wagon to the patch where they get to choose their perfect pumpkin! Additional activities for children to enjoy include The Barnyard Bounce, pumpkin painting, feeding the chickens, playing in the hay, and getting lost in the Corn Maze!
You'll leave McGee Farms with full hearts and bellies after you pay a visit to The Kitchen where you will find home-cooked meals and treats of all kinds! Jars of fresh jams, jellies, and relishes are available for purchase.
Today marks the opening of the 2021 season at McGee Farms! They are open from October 1 to October 31 from 3-6 M-F, 10-6 on Sat, and 1-5 on Sundays. Be sure you pay them a visit this fall and tag us in your pictures with your perfect pumpkins!
