Adventech Brings the Next Disruptive Technology to the Shoals, Manufactures the Industry's Most Efficient Complex Motor Generator

Adventech, Inc officially opened its Shoals Industrial Park manufacturing facility in an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning. Adventech CEO Ron Ballman and staff welcomed officials and visitors and led everyone on a tour of the plant, which included a demonstration of the company’s patented MaxEff electric motor and introduction of Gerald Goche, Adventech’s head of research & development and the motor generator’s inventor.

The 55,000 square ft facility will begin operation with a production staff of thirty, with plans to expand the local staff to two hundred personnel within two years.

The company’s initial product, the MaxEff complex motor generator, is used primarily for industrial and municipality applications such as pump drives, cooling tower fan drives, automation applications and bag houses. The motor includes patented proprietary technology which reduces power consumption by as much as 40%. Over two thousand Maxeff motors are currently in place, serving customers including Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Miller/Coors, InBev, Moffitt Cancer Center, Rio Tinto, and the Jamaican Water Authority. The new Florence facility will be tasked with scaling the technology in order to meet U.S. and international demand.

Ballman commented, “Our objective to become recognized as the most disruptive technology to hit the electric motor market in the last 65 years is coming to fruition. Adventech is committed to continuing to develop energy saving motor generators for other market segments as well as evolving into the next generation of the MaxEff motor.”

Florence Mayor Steve Holt said, “The City of Florence is very proud that Adventech has chosen to become part of our business community. As a new industry, Adventech is investing over $2.5 million and will bring more than fifty new jobs to our area. I especially appreciate their commitment to hiring military veterans when possible. On behalf of the City, we congratulate Adventech on their current success and look forward to supporting them as they grow and move forward.”

Kevin Jackson, Shoals Economic Development Authority President, added, “We would like to thank Adventech for choosing the Shoals for their new facility and we are excited about their investment into our community. The cutting- edge technology behind their product makes it truly revolutionary. This is exactly the type of company we want in the Shoals. Ron Ballman and his group are masters of their craft. His other companies have won and been finalists for AAMA Supplier of the Year-Small Manufacturer in consecutive years, a first in their category. We know this company will join this successful lineage and we look forward to seeing the great things they will bring to the Shoals.”
